Who among us can put a price on freedom?  What price would we be willing to pay in order to have the freedom to be present for our friends and family, for our community…for ourself?  If those we provide services for are able to compensate us in return, without impairing our ability to come and go for others while taking care of ourselves, isn’t that even better?  If our needs and expenses are minimal, necessitating only minimal income–making every monetary gift truly abundance, who would complain or find fault?  Who would pity us for not being slave to the system, not having a lot of stuff, or not even having a lot of money?

I’m not adverse to monetary wealth and find no fault in providing well for oneself, family and charities of choice…wealth from any source will find a welcome home in me, but I deeply and enormously appreciate the gift of freedom I’ve enjoyed much of my life.  If I can enjoy both, so much the better.  Bring it.  I believe in doing good AND doing well.
